Like the cigarette on my background image, I’ll show you how to create one. I promised you guys this is gonna be intuitive. All you need is a basic skills with Photoshop.

The tricky part need to download this special customized “cigarette shape” plugin ( 446 times downloaded) before we’ve getting started.
Okay, we can now open a new composition in Photoshop, make it 500px width at minimal.
Set the color
Open a new image composition with a white background, width 120 px & height 280px. Choose f4ac64 (r244, g172, b100) as foreground and f8db7c (r248, g219, b124) as background color.

Making shapes
Maquee tool drawing a selection shown as figured.
(1) Make a new layer, fill the selection with your foreground color and name it “filter” if you want. (2) Without loosing your selection, apply Filter / Noise / Add noise with values: 5 Amount, Gaussian and unchecked Monochromatic.
Adding details
(3) Make a another new layer, use Maquee tool again to draw “cigarette” part,
fill it with pure white color, and apply Filter / Sketch / Note paper, with values: 16, 3, 5. Add a new layer, set your foregound color to f4ac64 (r244, g172, b100), (4) Use Paintbrush tool with size 2 to apply some lines over the filter part.

Now we’re going to load that plugin to do tricky works
First of all, (5) merge the layers of “filter” and “white paper”.
Add a new layer above (I promise you I won’t ask you to add more
), load the downloaded gradient plugin in the Tool Options by clicking on Edit/Load Apply the gradient exactly as shown by holding down the SHIFT key , deselect it and apply the Blending Mode “Multiply” for this layer and change it’s opacity to 70% - 80%.
Small details
Finally, before we’re actually complete this, we should add some small details such as tabacco flakes, shadows.

(6) Make the selection as shown and fill it with a solid color 9b5527 (r155, g85, b39), and apply Filter / Noise / Add noise, set values: 26 Amount, Gaussian and make sure Monochromatic checked. Deselect it, pick Polygon Lasso tool and make a random “jaggy” effect as figure shows.
It’s all done.
